Mezclilla

All denim look debuting Esmeralda, my new gucci bolsita. I found her at an antique shop behind a glass door. I knew I had to have her. Where did she come from? Who was her previous owner? I love adopting new things. Have you ever found an amazing find at an antique store?

Teddy

I recently went to Pacifica to spend the day with my sisters. My youngest sister moved to Pacifica after she got married about a year ago and I try to visit especially because she now has a baby boy. Pacifica is a neighboring city by San Francisco so it's close to the ocean and it can be quiet breezy. I wore this fuzzy set that reminds me of a teddy bear. I think baby Samuel drooled on it a little bit but that's okay hehe.

Pamukkale, Turkey

I was recently in Turkey for vacation, and although it was my second time in the beautiful country, I still was delightfully surprised by the towns and cities I visited this time around. I still have so much more to discover. The culture and the atmosphere is something so unique with so many different influences. One of my stops was the city of Pamukkale which is a small town-like city.

I was there to see the famous travertines which were used as luxury thermal spas by the Romans many years ago. It still remains very well preserved and it is quiet a fascinating site. I had actually woken up extra early so I could watch the sunrise from the top of the 'Cotton Castle'. It was so dark when I left my hotel, the walk there was four kilometers. That plan immediately went downhill when all the dogs from peoples homes and strays on the street started barking viciously and blocking off streets because I was the only loca roaming the streets at that hour. For those who don't know I used to have a huge dog phobia as a child and pretty much into adulthood. Triggered, I was frozen in fear mid street. I waited until the sun came up and then continued on my merry way. It's funny how everything seems so much more frightening at night. A local was kind enough to give me a lift halfway up and I had the place pretty much to myself and got to see the balloons take off.

Fall Last Year

It's so sad that California seems to be burning down. I woke up Wednesday morning to such a dark cloudy yellow/orange sky. The smoke and fumes from all the fires in the surrounding areas seem to have elevated up to the sky and casted a very unreal, almost frightening, looking sky. I pray for everyone who's been affected by these fires, it seems like it's one thing after another this year. I wish for better times for everyone, we will get through it together. These photos were taken last year by mi primito.

ViƱedos

I have been showing my family around all week, an official tour guide. My family is visiting from out of town for my little sister's wedding this weekend. This is also why I have not been as active. My little sister is my photographer and she has been so busy with all the wedding planning. It is still surreal to me that she will soon be leaving our little home.

My family from Mexico is visiting us in California. Napa was the first stop, we went wine tasting and walked around downtown. It is still rather warm, so we are taking full advantage of the nice weather. It is nice to have quality family time which was very much needed. I am realizing how in the states my immediate family didn't make it a priority to do things together or have family traditions. It is something I want to have and make an effort to actually make happen now with my sisters now that we are older and with our own families in the future.

Crochet

I recently came back from vacation. I was in Bali just a few weeks ago and such an incredible time. It was so lush and green, the weather was very humid which meant little lizards would sometimes make it into your room. From the beautiful architecture of all the temples, to the kindhearted locals it was a memorable trip. We visited the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, which you could literally spend the whole day absolutely intrigued by all the monkeys running around. Little baby monkeys clinging onto their mothers, others busy eating yams and many grooming one another. There was also a building inside the sanctuary where we spotted a whole herd of little bats clinging to the ceiling just chilling. We also explored some of the beaches in Kuta, which is the southern part of Bali, Padang Padang definitely was one of our favorites. We also took an hour boat ride from the north east side of Bali to the Gili Islands. Once on the island there were no motor vehicles. You can explore the island by bicycle or horse, this made the islands much more relaxing. We also went exploring different waterfalls and rice fields. I bought this bathing suit set from one of the local vendors. I always love to buy clothing from places I travel too, anyone else guilty of this? Who else has been to Bali? What was your favorite place you visited there?xoxo,Guadalupe[Bathing Suit: Bali Local Vendor]
